Heceta Head Lighthouse - between Yachats and Florence

Oregon Coast Lighthouse Photos by Forinash

Still in active use today, the Umpqua River Lighthouse located south of Winchester Bay, was built in 1894. It is a prime attraction for the Umpqua State Park just off Highway 101 south of Reedsport. To avoid erosion which claimed the original light, this 65 foot tower was built on solid ground far back from the river entrance. Its first order Fresnel lens flashes from an elevation of 165 feet and is visible nearly 19 miles at sea.
